Banks School of Scottish Dancing

Many of my dancers performed in ththe SDAA competition last weekend, 26/27 May, it was held at Ashfield Boys HS. They danced very well and the results show that!! Congratulations Dancers!!! I will be posting the results as soon as I get them back from Leanne, until then, here are a few photos.... I don't know where Brodie was for the photo? Probably off playing dolls with Briony and Ceilidh! Sarah won 6th prize in the Eastern Australian Championship 13-15 Years.

I am so very proud of all the dancers who competed at the competition at Campbelltown. 4 pupils competed for the very first time on Sunday and WOW what a success they were!! Added to that, we had many dancers in the morning and afternoon sessions. All dancers were successful and the two ‘excellence’ scholarships of $100 WERE GIVEN TO OUR PUPILS!!!! WOOOHOOO! Well done Cailin and Sarah!!! Results as follows: Primary 5 Years Pas de Basques 1st Lauren 2nd Connor 3rd Keira Primary 6 years Brodie - Pas de Basques and Pdbs and HCuts – 3rd Fling – 2nd Beginners 9 & Under (11 in section!) Lauren 3rd in Fling and 2nd in Fling Greer – 5th in Fling and 3rd in Trophy Fling Ceilidh - 3rd in Seann Triubhas 1st in Reel, 1st in Lilt and Encouragement Award Beginners 10 & Over (12 in section) Ashley – 5th in Fling, Swords, Seann Triubhas, Lilt, 4th in Reel and 3rd in Flora AND 4th in Trophy Fling! Novice – All age Cailin – 1st in all dances!!!! Plus 2nd in Trophy Fling, Won Pointscore

State Committee Concert – St Marys Band Club Tickets are now available from me for the NSW State Committee concert that is being held on Sunday 17th June at 2pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children. The children will need to be at St Marys at 9am, the little ones that are in Knees Up Mother Brown need to be there at 12 O’Clock, so they can have a run through on the stage as well. Tickets are also available at the door, if you would prefer. Outfits for Concert The outfits will soon be available for ‘Mother Brown’. They will cost $20each. The outfits for the Fairy Dance are the Lilt outfit with fairy wings. The outfits for Panic! Are the shirt which you have already paid for, and the skirt and stockings (unsure of the price of these as yet) Exams Our dancing exams that were to be held on July 1st have been cancelled due to an administration problem. They have changed the examination year and 1st July is now the first day of the new year, too difficult for our exams to be on th
